Holiday Pet-Friendly Events

Mansfield Feed Mill is proud to be on the list of events to attend with your dog this holiday. Christmas is about family and pets are part of the family. Bring your pet by for pictures with Santa and catch up on their vaccinations. We have all your pet needs including fleece pet beds for the winter.

Pooches are invited to prance with their two-leggers at Sunday’s Jingle Bell Run. The benefit for the Trinity Strand Trail and the Dallas Mavericks Foundation will start and finish at the Hilton Anatole, 2201 Stemmons Freeway. After the 1-mile fun run/walk at 6 p.m. and 5K run at 6:30, there will be a party with food, drinks and entertainment. Registration begins at 4. The entry fee — $35-$40 (cash or check only), with discounts for kids — includes a T-shirt, jingle bells and admission to the hotel’s Sparkle! attraction (pooch-friendly too, details below). dallasjinglebellrun.com.

Half Price Books’ flagship store from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. And the League of Animal protectors will be wrapping gifts (purchased anywhere) for donations there from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. 5803 E. Gecko Hardware from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Kids and pets are welcome. If they’re chicken-friendly, you can have George the rooster in the photo too. 10233 E. Mutts Canine Cantina from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, where you can also meet Dog & Kitty City’s adoptable little ones and buy tickets for their holiday raffle. 2889 Cityplace W. Collin County Animal Services, 4750 Community Blvd. in McKinney, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The lineup also includes refreshments and discounted adoptions ($25 for dogs, $10 for cats). This year’s Sparkle! celebration at the Hilton Anatole, which welcomes pooches every Sunday. From noon to 5 p.m. (open to Jingle Bell Run participants after that, details above), with a doggy Christmas costume contest at 3.
